Being the capital of the Netherlands, this place is known for its artistic heritage, narrow houses, legacies of the city's 17th century Golden Age etc. It is also one of the top financial centres in Europe. In the year 2012, this place was identified as the second-best city and it has also set high standards on the quality of living and this city has a great infrastructure. The port of Amsterdam is recognised as the fifth-largest in Europe. Cycling the key enjoyment done by the majority of people here and this city has a number of bike paths available where people can enjoy such activities. The weather here is quite favourable all year round and it never experiences too much of heatwaves. Tourists are spotted all year long.

Rijksmuseum:

This is a very famous Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history basically. There are almost 8,000 objects of art and history kept on display for the visitors. However, their total collection comprises of around 1 million objects.

Anne Frank House:

This place is basically a writer's house which is converted into a museum that displays the biography of a very famous Jewish diarist Anne Frank. It was the hiding place for Anne and her family which was turned into a museum as she was not able to survive the war.

The Canal Tour:

Take a tour of the canal in a pedalboat in Amsterdam. Hire a pedal boat and you have the benefit of picking your own route and enjoy a self - guided tour of the waterways owned by the city.

Vondelpark:

This is one of the most visited parks in the city. Built across 116 acres of land, it is also recognised as one of the largest parks, and also has a number of things to do for the visitors. It is home to the famous rose garden which has almost 70 types of flowers planted. Playgrounds, statues, sculptures are other few attractions for the people to spend some quality time.

A person can opt to visit this place almost all year round. Still, the most suitable time to visit can be either from April to May or from September to November. The weather is great and this place experiences a great number of tourists during this time of the year. The weather condition during the mentioned time can be named as balmy and canal tour, cruising etc can be some of the best experiences enjoyed. Start exploring the place whenever possible but can consider visiting during the stated months in order to have the best experience.

It is also a hub to some smaller ones as well. The major ones are - Rotterdam, The Hague Airport, Eindhoven Airport, Maastricht Aachen Airport, Groningen Airport Eelde. 

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the major Airport that is generally used by the passengers while flying to this place. It has witnessed millions of passengers who travel to and fro from this place. Being ranked in the 11th position as one of the busiest airports in the world, it was not able to handle the huge number of flights coming in. So quite a few operators decided to move to other smaller airports available here since it is not the only one available.
